What’s the weather like?
Due to the geographical location of El Calafate, you should know that the climate here is dry and cold throughout the year, and each season has its pros / cons!
September-March / Spring-Summer:
Pleasant temperatures of 13 to 28ºC, long days (during December there are up to 17 hours of sunlight!), Little precipitation, and strong winds. It is the high season, the prices of the accommodation will be elevated and there is usually a higher occupancy rate during these months.
April-August / Autumn-winter:
Short and cold days, down to -15ºC of windchill, little precipitation. Possible snowfall during the winter months. Due to inclement weather, there are activities that do not operate during these months, and those that do might lower their frequency.

Credit and debit cards are accepted in most restaurants, shops, supermarkets and hotels.
